While my high school self would surely be enamored with the newest video release from Canadian band Broken Social Scene, my current, almost-graduated-from-undergrad self is less ecstatic, but still curious. Today, they bring us “Golden Facelift” which was actually recorded back in 2010 along with their album Forgiveness Rock Record, but hasn’t seen the light until today. The visual is poignant, gross and immediately relevant, making for, at the very least, an intense watching experience. I wish I could say the same for the track, but hey, it’s the last week of the year and new music is fairly hard to come by.
