Midwest dreamboats and the stand4rd members Bobby Raps and Corbin (formally Spooky Black) released a collaberative EP yesterday entitled couch potato. The EP features six new songs from the two who have been fairly quiet since the release of the stand4rd’s “Self Titled” album came out late last year. A lot has happened since then, including Allan Kingdom’s rise due to a very important Kanye West placement and co-sign as well as Spooky’s name change.
I’ve secretly been waiting for this project to come out for some time. I haven’t been holding onto it or anything, I just knew these two were bound to make a project together. In their Fader interview, Corbin and Bobby stated they were the first two to come together and begin making music out of the 4 in the Stand4rd so it only makes sense they finally link for an EP. All the production is courtesy of Bobby Raps, who is quickly becoming my favorite stand4rd member for his production but also his ever growing rapping ability.
These kids are so hard not to fuck with. They’re young, they’re silly, but they’re undoubtedly talented and for that I am incredibly interested to see how they progress as artists.
