“The harsh reality is where there’s Jesus, there’s a Judas”
The Passion of the Cross is the debut EP of A-Cross. It’s a well thought out and cohesive project, the Chicago rapper’s attention to detail begins with the project’s title, both a play on his name and a hint at some biblical references sprinkled throughout the seven track EP. The art direction is by Richard Wilkinson and The Passion of the Cross features production by Screwaholic, 2Deep, DJ Corbett and Bravestarr. All vocals are by A-Cross with the exception of “Fakeriends” which features a verse from Noelz Vedere. An outstanding track for me is “Adjectives” produced by 2Deep, I also enjoyed hearing a George Carlin skit within this framework. Get to know some more about the promising artist through his Existential Little Interview. A-Cross shows intelligent and serious lyricism, dynamic delivery, diverse flows and a unique point of view. The Passion of the Cross is worthy of your attention.
