Nelly Furtado and Timbaland back and forth’s used to be a staple of pop culture. Nelly Furtado claims “Roses are red, some diamonds are blue, chivalry is dead but you’re still kinda cute” in the song and for some reason that line eerily reminds me of the south park episode where all the little girls want to be sluts like their hero Paris Hilton, women have such good role models, then again heres the male role model in the video. So who’s really losing? The children like me who grew up listening to this.

For my TBT, I’ve chosen Kanye West’s “Lord, Lord, Lord” from his GOOD Friday’s series. Reason being, Tyler’s new single “Fucking Young” reminds me of it in the weirdest way. Both have Charlie Wilson on them and his style of singing is so recognizable. God bless Tyler for using him on his album.

On April 21, Lili K will release what she feels is her real debut album, Ruby. I’m looking forward to hearing that especially after getting a taste of the project from Tidal’s sneak peak yesterday. The imminent release made me go back and listen to some of Lili’s older tracks and this jazzy duet with Lorine Chia “Help” is one of my favorites. It’s an excellent sounding jam produced by Peter Cottontail. Listen to this and then help yourself to new Lili K next week.
